The January game at Maroochy River was both the first game of 2026 and the playoff for the 2025 Champion of Champions Trophies. After a very close-fought competition, the winners were:

Mark Anderson (41 points) & Helen Dalton (36 points) The trophies are being engraved and will be presented at the next game. Both players also received a $100 Drummond Voucher. Well done to both of you!

Other winners to receive prizes at the Maroochy game were Keith Battle, winner of the 2025 Top 100, who won a SCCG Bridgestone Golf Bag as well as 2 Dozen Golf Balls.

The winner of the 2025 Inter-Club Competition was Maroochy River Golf Club - Congratulations! .

Both Alby Taylor & Mel Jackson came along to receive their Life Membership Awards, which was fantastic.

On to 2026... Following further discussions at our recent Committee Meeting, we did a full review of costs, and have to let you know that the "Daily Special" for 2026 will now be increased to $135. This includes Green Fee, Cart, 5 Raffle Tickets and competition fee. Unfortunately we are constantly encountering price increases by Host Clubs - for example the price of Half-Day rental at Maroochy River in 2021 was $3000 plus carts, and in 2026 is $7000 plus carts. Noosa Springs has increased over the same time-period from $65 per player to $99. Hopefully our members will understand the need for us make the increase to cover our costs, level of prizes, and a donation to our local charity, Wishlist.

Golf Australia has changed from using "Golflink Numbers" to "Golf I.D." numbers. This number will now remain with the player for life, even if they change clubs. Unfortunately it means that we can no longer identify which club you are from using your Golf I.D. To enable us to correctly allocate scores for our Inter-Club Competition,  please let us know if you change clubs. If you are a member of multiple clubs, please let us know where your allegiance lies!

As usual, the next game at Palmer Coolum on 17th February is oversubscribed, so if you, or one of your playing partners can't play, please take your name off well in advance - there are 25 players on the waitlist!
